Carbures is an industrial group focused on technology and innovation and specialized in the manufacture of parts and structures of carbon fiber and other composite materials, as well as in the design of own engineering systems.
Founded in 1999, Carbures began as a spin off of the University of Cadiz. Airbus came to the university to solve a problem with a piece made of composite material, which was successfully solved and led to the birth of the Company, which soon began to produce parts of aircraft in composite materials.
Therefore, Carbures stands as a model of knowledge transfer from the University to industry.
Nowadays, Carbures has a professional team of more than 900 people that operates through 18 plants and engineering offices in seven countries and three continents: America, Asia and Europe.
The Company operates in three differents sectors. Firstly, in a more than consolidated way, Carbures acts in the aerospace sector as a manufacturer of parts in composite materials, being a reference company in Europe. Carbures has reached, in 2016, the largest production in its history. Secondly, in the automotive sector, Carbures manufactures components in international composites, which are destined to all types of vehicles: automobiles, motorcycles and railways, contributing to produce lighter, less polluting and more efficient vehicles. Finally, as the company's most incipient branch of the company, in the civil engineering sector, the division of infrastructures in the areas of Engineering Oil & Gas, civil works, architecture and unique projects, offers engineering services, manufacturing and assembly of elements Including components made of composite materials.
Carbures is a listed company in Spain’s Stock Exchange since March 23rd, 2012.
